Kristalnacht Yahrzeit Lamp

This Yahrzeit (memorial lamp) incorporates shards of broken and enameled glass to both memorialize and remind us of the beginning events of the Holocaust.

The star of this exhibit is a 68-inch tall bronze statue of “Rebecca at the Well.” This long, lean figure won the grand prize at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens’ outdoor sculpture show.

This bronze shows the Queen with outstretched arms, as if pleading to save her people.

This lovely two-foot bronze shows Ruth with wheat slung over her shoulder, after gleaning in the field.

Miriam

Moses and Aaron’s sister is referred to as the Prophetess of Joy and Creativity, and Diviner of Water for Israelites. This inspired Gissen to design her famous Miriam’s cup, using glass, bronze, and colorful enamel.
